As a first-generation immigrant, I have a unique perspective on the challenges navigating a technology career. I have always been drawn to the fast-paced world of technology and have been fortunate to work in a number of high-growth start-ups, where I have seen companies along the $10 million to $100 million ARR journey. One of my proudest achievements is my commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Over 50% of the people I have hired have been women and minorities, and I have always been an advocate for creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all employees. I have spent the past 10+ years building, developing, and scaling new SaaS products and businesses in growth markets. Throughout my career, I have focused on solving real customer pain points and needs by creating products that are useful, usable, and used. As someone who has faced many challenges and overcome many obstacles, I am passionate about sharing my hard-earned learning with others. I believe that by sharing my experiences and knowledge, I can help make the journey to success a little easier for others.

Utilize your data analytics background by finding an industry that values that skill set, such as data analytics products. To gain functional experience, consider attending a product management bootcamp or participating in free startup weekends, bootcamps, or volunteer projects. While it may be tempting to aim for a big tech company right away (which is not impossible but improbably if you are not graduating from undergrad or grad), it's also worth considering mid-sized companies for product operations or larger companies for internal product management roles. Network with and learn from experienced product managers at those companies and use that experience as a stepping stone to product management roles in your next role.
Hope this helps!
