I lead the product and design team at DonorsChoose, a nonprofit committed to addressing educational inequity in US public schools. Before that I alternated between the managerial and individual contributor paths in design at a few startups. You can talk to me about a career path in design without a design degree, tips for getting hired, tips for hiring designers, the IC path vs. management, startups, nonprofits, growing a design team, product leadership, or anything else on your mind!
I had a non-traditional path into design and leadership and had to figure a lot out for myself. Looking back it all makes sense, but I had no idea what I was doing at the time! Since I never had someone to help me connect the dots and find my path, I'd like to help others navigate their careers in design and product.

Awesome!
Founder & CEO
I enjoy speaking with Dan - as the first person I've spoke to when trying out Merit, Dan was able to answer a couple of product career-related questions that I had, as well as offer a couple of ideas on how I might best use Merit.
